The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated"

Mahatma Gandhi

Our Mission: “Provide for and continuously improve the health, happiness and fortunes of the homeless and abandoned cats and dogs in Monroe County”

Volunteers are a crucial part of the work we do each day. They have been the backbone of our organization from the beginning and allowed us to keep our administrative costs low so more of our donations can go to animal care. From dog walking, to fostering, to cleaning, to working in our Thrift Store, there is something for everyone, and it all supports our lifesaving mission.

Why Volunteer?

  • Feel good about making a difference in the lives of animals
  • Great way to get outside and get some exercise
  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Learn new skills, and make a difference in our community
